Pete 'the dude' Fletcher sometimes goes by the name of 'Dad'. This is not only because he's the band's oldest member but also because he's Kate's father, no matter how much he tries to deny it.

Pete has been rocking out on the guitar since he first picked it up in his 30s. Like many other delusional 30-somethings, desperately clinging to their youth, his first aim was to be a rock star. So he grew his hair long, donned some leather trousers and started playing gigs at school fetes and WI meetings around Gloucestershire. When his hair fell out and the trousers got too tight, he decided to resign himself instead to joining the fledgling Horsley Band.

For many years, band practises were held at Pete's house. This suited Pete because he didn't have to move too far from his armchair and suited the rest of the band because Pete's wife Carmella served them up lovely left overs from the restaurant they owned. A founder member of the band, Pete has long provided the music with its funky chords and rocking rhythms.
