Like a fine wine, the music of the Horsley Band has thoroughly matured over the last fifteen years or so, and is now ready to be uncorked and downed in delirious decadence. The sound has developed from traditional, uncomplicated English and Irish style melodies, through a raucous, brass infused ceilidh dance period, to a more melodic, intricate style heavily influenced by French traditions. Our music includes both traditional melodies from across Europe, as well as music composed more recently in the folk style. Many of our band members including John, Rod and Pete also compose tunes and all the pieces are arranged by the band. We have recently recorded a few of our favourite tracks for a demo CD.
